With a heavy heart, we would like to announce that the xNULL community will be shut down following James' departure.

A short version for people that can’t access our Discord server is that James steps away and parts ways with the community, mainly for personal reasons.

James owns the xNULL name and domain and he wants to keep them for his other projects or businesses he might start in the future. xNULL was always meant to be a general programming forum, not a gaming focused one, but James offered it to the MoH community. It became its new home after TMT forum was closed down and we are grateful for that.

Over the years it grew into a community for most MoH players, server owners, modders and alike. It used to be a place where everyone was welcome to share their mods and tools, show off cool maps and ask for help or troubleshoot issues. It was also a place where development of the Reborn patch took place and it became a center of gravity on the forum.

We have a lot of fond memories and for some of us it was a place where we made new friends or found interest and passion for programming. It has been 15 years of ongoing support and one of the longest (if not THE longest) running MoH community website on the Internet in history, which is a huge achievement, not only for MoH, but for many other community driven projects in general.

We are very proud of that, and we would like to thank you all for going along with us for such a long and fruitful ride!

Your continued interest in the game is what makes MoH still alive to this day! You're awesome ♥️

Something ends, something begins

We know it might be sad or worrisome for some of you, but when something ends, something new begins. We see it as an opportunity to start a new chapter.

We won't stop supporting the game! We are happy to announce a reorganisation. Instead of xNULL we give you two new places with MoH related content:

Here is what is ahead of us:

  • xNULL’s discord server will be put into a read-only mode on 2026-03-01 (1st March) and deleted on 2027-03-01 (1st March next year)

  • xNULL and AAAA websites will continue to work indefinitely. They will be hosted at MoH Archive website .
    (xNULL forum will be renamed to not interfere with James’ legal property.)

  • MoH support and development of the Reborn patch and tools continues at the new place: MoH Reborn website .

  • Masterserver

    • You need to update your game before 2027-03-01. You have to do that!

      The easiest way is to follow our Migration Guide.

    • Masterserver is a system that makes the online server list work, game servers and game clients need to connect to it.

    • After the GameSpy shutdown, the in-game server browser stopped working and we had to switch to using an alternative masterserver developed by xNULL in-house. Since we don’t own gamespy.com domain, this means that MoH binaries and the Reborn patch distributed over the years point to the master.x-null.net domain.

      Last year we switched the domain to point to masterserver services provided by 333networks.com .

    • master.x-null.net domain will continue to work till 2027-03-01 (another full year) to ensure that everything still works and to give everyone enough time to transition to other solutions. We will reach out to you via various channels with several reminders throughout the year to make sure you didn’t forget to update.

    • You can continue using masterserver provided by 333networks via one of their own domains: master.gonespy.com. To do that, you can use 333networks binaries and instructions

    • OpenMoHAA uses 333networks masterserver by default already, so you don’t have to do anything if you use OpenMoHAA.

    • MoH Reborn - everything concerning MoH Reborn will use the master.gametir.com domain, which uses 333networks infrastructure behind the scenes.

      • There is a new Reborn patch release on our new website that uses the new domain. If you use the new patch your game client and server will continue to work correctly past the 2027 deadline.

        Important!

        • There are versions for both - server admins and for players!
        • There are versions for Spearhead and Breakthrough!
        • Please reach out to your game server hosting companies or your server admins so they update Reborn patch!

      • You can use the online web patching utility at MoH Reborn › Online Patching Tool to patch your own binaries on your own. Binaries patched this way will use the master.gametir.com domain.

      • If you want to use Reborn patch, but don’t want to use Reborn’s masterserver domain, you need to patch your binaries using other options listed.

      • For people who want to use OpenMoHAA, but would like to use Reborn’s masterserver domain - you will need to configure it manually to point to master.gametir.com. Please consult OpenMoHAA documentation on how to do that or read our migration guide.

    • Important! No matter which option you choose now, you will have exactly the same experience when it comes to the masterserver. Same server list and everything. MoH Reborn uses its own domain so that it can offer long term support and improvements, over current solutions, in the future. You are also not obliged to pick one option and stick with it forever. You can change your mind at any time.

Few words from RazoRapiD:

Over the years xNULL was a home for Reborn patch development. Given that xNULL will soon no longer exist in its current form, I would like to continue working on MoH and the Reborn patch in my free time. I enjoy tinkering, building stuff for myself and sharing it with others. It’s a nice escape from a day to day job and it brings me joy to use my skills in a fun way for the benefit of others.

I will continue to develop the patch and build tools for the game at my own pace, on my own terms with a full creative control and I’m excited about what the future might bring.

If you are still interested in MoH modding, you play the game or host a server and would still like to keep in touch with like-minded people after xNULL shuts down, I’d like to invite you to a new place dedicated to the unofficial patch and MoH modding. The place is newbie friendly so you can visit and ask the most basic questions.

If you plan on using the Reborn patch on your server or want to have carefree gaming experience in the future, make sure you follow its development to be up to date with new releases. Don’t forget to update or install the patch before we hit 2027-03-01 to keep your in-game server browser working correctly and your server to show up on the list.

This is a new place where legacy MoH websites are hosted. You can go there to access the old xNULL forum and AAAA website.

In the future the place might host other old MoH related content for history preservation purposes.
